Elements of my Dream Home

Location

When I think of my dream home, the first thought that comes to mind is location. I aspire to own a house with great views, which ideally would be the sea. I find nothing more calming than the sea, so living next to it could simply be life changing. If not the sea, living in a beautiful city with incredible architecture would be ideal.

Outdoor Space

Alongside a beautiful view, outdoor space is essential. However the outdoor space I aspire to own does not have to be much. Just having a porch, balcony, or patio would be perfect for me, as taking care of a larger garden doesn't completely interest me.

Neutral Colour Scheme

My dream home would consist of a neutral colour palette. Greys, beiges, white and black will rule my home, as I find I tire from colours so easily. The extent of colour in my wardrobe is maroon, emerald and navy, so I wouldn't expect anything more in a home suited to me.

The Kitchen

My dream kitchen would look very similar to the one above, in which I would love to have open shelving, a lot of counter space, and butcher block counter tops. Butcher Block is such a natural material to me and a classic one in that. Countertops from various rocks and minerals are indeed gorgeous, but I love how effortlessly you can mix materials, colours, and patterns with butcher block and have it look like a dream. Another thing that is essential for my dream kitchen is seating. I would prefer a home with an open layout, so just having seating in the kitchen, instead of having a dining room at all, would ultimately be ideal for me. 

The Bathroom

As someone who cares about hygiene and who likes to do makeup and hair, having a bathroom equipped for getting ready would be a dream. I would love a bathroom with a lot of open storage. I say open because I love the way bottles and various products look together, especially when they come in beautiful packaging.

Another element I would love in my dream bathroom is great natural lighting. Lighting is crucial to determining how something looks, whether that be your makeup or outfit, so a bathroom with excellent lighting would be amazing, since you wouldn't be left guessing in the dark- literally.

Plants and Flowers

Lastly, I think it would be a total dream to have a house filled with plants and flowers. Both give such life to any space and are so natural in their colour and appeal. Aside from the sea, I can not think of anything more beautiful than plants and flowers. Whether they are potted or in dainty glass vases, I think they can ultimately bring a lot of positive energy into a home, while adding a lot of interest too.
