I have come to the realization that the excessive amount of grey in my closet is a little out of hand. Yet as the photos above show, how can you resist any of the multitudes of shades this colour evokes?
Grey is lighter on the eyes than black, yet darker than white. It's a perfect medium and is a perfect transitional colour as well. You could easily pair grey with summer hues such as mauve or pale blues and ease your summer wardrobe into fall.
One look I've been seeing more and more of lately is the layering of different shades of grey. Lighter greys paired with darker greys is a new and interesting combination for street wear. It doesn't have to be greys with the same undertone either. Warmer greys and darker greys surprising look really beautiful together as seen above. If you are not brave enough to wear a grey sweater beneath a grey coat, I fully encourage you to try a grey sweater or coat paired with a grey handbag or clutch. It gives the same effect without necessarily being deemed a groutfit.
Nevertheless I fully intend on trying this look out once fall arrives and clearly I am not the only one. From Armani to Hermés to Viktor & Rolf, grey is on many minds this upcoming Fall/Winter season and I can't help but anticipate it fully.
