Nirvana Black

I was inspired to make this post, as I recently picked up my second bottle of Nirvana Black by Elizabeth and James. I've worn the sophisticated yet mysterious perfume for over a year now and consider it my signature scent.
Consisting of violet, sandalwood and vanilla, this fragrance leaves a warm and almost sensual smell, leaving you to feel both polished and sexy-- and let's be honest, is there possibly a better combination than that?
My favourite places to spray any perfume have to be on my wrists, neck, and in my hair. Some may think that spraying perfume in your hair is a little strange, but if your hair looks good it might as well smell good, right? And no, I have not found it to be damaging to my hair at all, as some skeptics may believe. Just one to two sprays is all you need, since it's a perfume-- not a heat protectant.
I received two samples in addition to my perfume: Philosophy's Hope in a Jar Moisturizer and Nirvana Black Pure Perfume Oil.
The moisturizer left my skin feeling very smooth post use. I loved that it wasn't overly fragranced like a lot of moisturizers tend to be. It has a good medium consistency and simply does the job.
The Nirvana Black Pure Perfume Oil definitely is not as fragranced as the perfume, so I would not recommend it in replacement of the perfume. The associate at Sephora told me that he loves to layer the oil with the perfume, which I also believe gives the best effect. The oil is said to "become part of the wearer", so it adapts and naturally blends to your scent. Wearing it in addition to the perfume simply enhances the scent.
If you haven't had the chance to smell Nirvana Black then I would definitely recommend you do, as both it and it's sister product, Nirvana White (peony, muguet, tender musk), are timeless beautiful scents, you won't be able to revert from.

xoxo,
Kirsten
